CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced Tuesday that the home field at Veterans Memorial Stadium will be changed from Perfect Game Field to PG Cares Field.
The rebranding takes effect for this season, which begins April 11 against Quad Cities. Perfect Game USA is a national baseball scouting service that began in Cedar Rapids.
Perfect Game has provided naming rights for the field at Memorial Stadium since 2009. The Perfect Game Cares Foundation is a philanthropic offshoot that began in 2003 with a mission to provide “resources, opportunities and hope for America’s underserved children.”

“We are thankful for The Perfect Game Cares Foundation continued support of the Cedar Rapids Kernels and the game of baseball,” said Kernels President Doug Nelson. “Through PG Cares commitment as our naming rights partner, we are able to give back to our community and promote the game of baseball and the life-changing experiences it provides.”
