League of Women Voters hosting forums for North Liberty, Coralville city candidates
Both forums will be livestreamed

The League of Women Voters of Johnson County is hosting virtual forums for North Liberty and Coralville city candidates ahead of the Nov. 2 election.
The forum with North Liberty candidates will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Two candidates are running for mayor: City Council member Chris Hoffman and Mike Mbanza, a lawyer.

Mayor Terry Donahue announced earlier this year he is not seeking re-election. Donahue was elected to the council in 2008 and has been mayor since 2017.
There also are two open seats on the North Liberty City Council. Council member Brian Wayson is seeking re-election and Erek Sittig, a lawyer, is seeking his first term.
All candidates have been invited to participate.
Advanced registration is required for those who want to watch the virtual forum via Zoom. The event also will be livestreamed by North Liberty Television and the League’s Facebook page and website.
Coralville city candidate forum
The virtual forum for Coralville city candidates will be at 7 p.m. Monday.
Four candidates are running for three council seats. Incumbents Laurie Goodrich and Hai Huynh are seeking re-election. Mike Knudson and Cindy Riley also are running.
Council member Meghann Foster is running unopposed for a two-year term as mayor.
Mayor John Lundell, who served a decade on council before being elected as mayor in 2013, is not running for re-election.
All candidates have been invited to participate in the forum.

The league held a forum for Iowa City candidates earlier this month.
