Without gun safety, U.S. is a dangerous place

Will it take economic issues for our government to finally get serious about gun safety? There was a recent newspaper article concerning a lower count here of college students from other countries. Why would a family in another country risk sending a student here?
Does the U.S. look like a safe place to vacation? There are many living here who are armed and dangerous!
Maybe the U.S. should be known as a vacation place for the brave (or reckless.) None of us want the U.S. to be known worldwide as a dangerous place.
