To the editor:
I used to be able to buy a family size pail of Blue Bunny ice cream that contained 5 quarts. That was replaced by a pail that only contained 4.5 quarts and yet cost more. Now that family size pail only contains 4 quarts, but costs more than it did when it held 5 quarts.
I used to be able to buy a 32-counce jar of Kraft Miracle Whip salad dressing. That has been replaced by a jar that has only 30 ounces and yet costs more than the 32-ounce jar. In both cases I'm getting less but paying more. I guess that's business.

Is that the mentality we want when running a university? I think not. When it comes to education, I want a trained educator in charge who is guided by a principle of what is best for students rather than a trained business person who is guided by a principle of profit.
