Thanks for supporting JCUNA

Johnson County United Nations Association wants to thank the Johnson County community (and Linn County friends) for its support of our fundraiser, Night of a Thousand Dinners, held annually on International Women’s Day, March 8. Thanks to generous support from business and NGO sponsors, individual donors, and those who bought tickets, we were able to raise more money than ever for three local organizations supporting Sustainable Development Goal #15: Life on Land and for the World Food Program. And thanks to the Iowa City Office of Equity and Human Rights who paid for food and rentals, all the money we raised went directly to our honored organizations.

We want to thank, as well, the city councils of Coralville, Iowa City, and North Liberty, plus the Johnson County Board of Supervisors for issuing proclamations in support of International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month, and our Night of a Thousand Dinners fundraiser. In addition, we are grateful to the artists who donated their performances.

Finally, we want to thank The Gazette, The Press-Citizen, and KICI radio for drawing attention to our fundraiser. The success of this event was truly the result of collaboration among governments, NGOs, businesses, artists, the press, and individuals. We are honored to serve this community.
