There are a few lines from a Marx Brothers movie that go: “Whatever it is, I'm against it. Whatever it is, I'm opposed to it.” That describes the Republican Party and in particular Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa. Grassley can't give our president due credit for anything, including his leadership in dealing with Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
According to Grassley, the French deserve the most credit in this. It's pathetic, that the same right wing that gave us “freedom fries” can turn on their own country. This is pretty much a slap in the face of all the U.S. military personnel who made this operation successful. At the same time, all the Senate Republicans essentially voted against teachers, cops and firemen on the latest jobs bill.
If the Republicans won't stand up for America, they should stand down. Let's borrow from the past, and say, “U.S.A. Love It or Leave It.” Arrivederci, Republicans. That means “goodbye” in French, by the way.
