Smaller government, but not less government

I have listened over and over to Republicans telling people they want smaller government, less government interference in our lives. Yet the bills being put forth by our Republican-dominated Iowa Legislature seems anything but! They are demanding interference in health care (reproductive health care, trans health care, etc), in removing the freedom to read (schoolbook bans), even where one can use bathroom facilities. And this is not all the legislation being put forth that interferes with our stated beliefs that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
We, the people, must not allow the legislative's unqualified medical judgment to deny the people the opportunity of life, nor allow the legislative's interference in the liberty to read and learn. All this leads to our pursuit of happiness. This must stop and we must return to being free Americans.
