Respect for marriage is bipartisan issue

It’s great to see bipartisanship still exists in Congress. Twelve Republican senators, including Iowa’s Joni Ernst, voted along with Democrats to allow debate to proceed on The Respect for Marriage Act. It appears both sides became concerned after statements by Justice Clarence Thomas that same-sex marriage was going to be targeted following the SCOTUS reversal of Roe vs Wade.
On the other hand, our senior senator, in defense of his “no ”vote, apparently somehow missed Justice Thomas’s remarks, indicating it was already the law of the land by virtue of the 2015 SCOTUS decision.
