‘Purple’ Iowa is long gone

Do you remember “Joe the Plumber? He said President Barack Obama would take money from the rich and distribute it to the middle income. Therefore, Obama was a “socialist.” Wow! Sen. John McCain squelched that. He was the other candidate.

Both were decent and politically purple. The purple haze has gone away. It is now an era of smears. Nostalgia can distort things but those purple days were down right encouraging. Remember purple Iowa? It was located in a huge “dead red” area that stretched for miles in all directions. Where are you Tom Vilsack? We need you.
