Proud to be ‘tolerant left’

Sunday’s letter from an enlightened MAGA reader seems to imply he knows what’s on the mind of someone who doesn’t think quite like himself.

I lean to the left and I don’t hate anyone Mr. Patton, I just happen to believe that Donald Trump is a con man and a criminal and doesn’t deserve to be in charge of anything. But Trump and DeSantis aren’t the real problem with people like you. There is a sickness within the right wing political culture and Trump is just the symptom that comes from it.

Left-wing people don’t attack school board members, or election workers for doing their job. They don’t call teachers groomers and they don’t just send thoughts and prayers when another bunch of kids are killed in a school, they demand action. I’m happy to be labeled “tolerant left.”
