‘Parental control’ for some, not others is hypocrisy

Here is my question for Gov. Kim Reynolds and the Iowa legislators. If parental control in education is as important as they say it is, why is parental control over the medical care of their children not equally important? I cannot untwist how the legislators and the governor have any right to dictate what medical care a child should receive (not only over the parents but over the child's physician), while simultaneously touting parental rights and control over every aspect of a child's school day.
