For the past 40 years the Iowa Auditor of State has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Earning distinction as a CPA is the gold standard in the accounting and auditing professions. To become a CPA an individual must earn a minimum number of college credit hours in accounting, must then pass a rigorous multipart exam, and obtain at least 40 hours of continuing education in accounting each year.
Mary Mosiman is the only candidate running for state auditor that is a CPA. She also is the only candidate running that has financial audit experience. In fact, she has over 13 years of professional experience with 8 years as the Story County Auditor and the past over 5 years as Iowa's Auditor of State.
As chief auditor for the Board of Regents I worked closely with Moisman and her staff and I found them to be highly professional, competent and dedicated to protecting the taxpayers of Iowa. We worked cooperatively on many occasions in performing audits to investigate fraud and irregularities, as well as routine financial statement audits.

Mosiman has the professional qualifications, certification as a CPA, 13+ years of audit experience and, for the past 5 years, has admirably served as state auditor. Vote for her to continue her great service to the state.
