Loss of child care funding shows lack of concern

Thanks to The Gazette for informing us about our Republican leadership declining the child care grant offered from the federal government. For a party purporting to be supportive of family values, the value of human life, and fiscal responsibility, this is utter hypocrisy. It’s been stated that ”this loss of that money is a deliberate decision to avoid having to commit $3 million in matching state funds toward child care.” I think I remember that Iowa is looking at budget surplus. How does this jibe with making it easier for parents to be employed and children to have reliable care while parents are at work? Let’s see some concern for children who have been born, not only the unborn.
