Living on the streets coverage shows need for funds
Dec. 5, 2022 6:00 am
I commend The Gazette’s first installment on homelessness in your community (“People living on the streets in Linn County skyrockets as winter arrives” Nov. 23). I am somewhat shocked by the increase in homeless numbers in just the past two years.
Willis Dady is doing all it can do and should be commended. What strikes me are the last several paragraphs of the article indicating the organization has exhausted its rental assistance funds.
My question is if the clearly obvious needs are still present why would Gov. Kim Reynolds send back $89 million dollars of such aid from federal programs, indicating the state of Iowa doesn’t need it?

Deplorable.
