Linn-Mar can find leadership within

Our family has lived in the Linn-Mar school district for 30 years. Both of our sons graduated from and coached for Linn-Mar High School and my wife worked as a teacher associate at Oak Ridge Middle School. I had the honor of serving as an administrator in the district for 21 years. During that time, I worked with some of Iowa's most dedicated, skilled and caring educational professionals.
Now that the district will be seeking a new superintendent of schools, I urge the Linn-Mar School Board to look inside the district for its new leader.
I have witnessed too many innovative, energetic and visionary school leaders leave Linn-Mar over the years after being passed over for advancement within the district. It's time to look for stability and long-term leadership for Linn-Mar's students and patrons.
