We’re two of the 1 million Iowans age 50 and over. We’re voting for Admiral Mike Franken in the upcoming democratic primary because he is the only candidate with a clear and concise agenda that reflects the concerns of older Iowans.
The Admiral’s “Agenda to Enhance the Lives of Older Iowans” http://frankenforiowa.com/issues calls for:
• Saving Social Security by having contributions made on ALL earnings instead of stopping at $147,000.

• Expanding Medicare by making it available to everyone over time, starting with those age 50 and older who want it, and adding coverage for basic vision, hearing, and dental services.
• Lowering Prescription Drug Costs by having Medicare do what the veterans administration does — using its national purchasing power to negotiate prices with drug companies.
• Addressing long-term care services by giving Iowans what they want — more services in their own homes, improved service quality, a bigger and better workforce to provide care, a paid leave program for family caregivers and more ways to pay for long-term care services.
In addition to being the only candidate with an agenda for older Iowans, Franken is also the only candidate who can defeat Chuck Grassley. Republican strategists view Franken as their toughest opponent because of his rural Iowa roots, his distinguished career in service to America, his intelligence and his calm, confident demeanor.
If you are an older Iowan, or you care about them, join us in voting for Mike Franken.
