I’d like to mention a subject to you that you may not like to hear or think about. But it is an important subject, and one we need to consider. That is the subject of mental health.
Many have suffered with this over all time. And it is serious, but it is treatable. People are recovering like never before. One in four have a mental illness, up from one in five since COVID. Even our most healthy people can have a brain disorder. Elite athletes, show people, your friends or family members. I had suffered for 17 years but now have been able to put a life back together and am in a positive situation.
If you are in need of help there are things available — the Abbe Center for Community Mental Health, the Mental Health Access Center and NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Linn County. If you need help, search it out. It is not a sign of weakness, but rather courage to help yourself.

So there is much hope, more than ever before. And I wish you the best. May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
