Elect leaders who favor gun safety

The lives of our children are worth more than the power of officeholders like U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson and Sen. Chuck Grassley, who consistently block common-sense gun safety measures that the vast majority of us favor. We need leaders who value the lives of our children and ensure they can safely grow up, graduate, and live a good life. Allowing anyone to buy a gun and massacre our kids is a choice we need to stop making.
The Second Amendment is in no danger of being eradicated. We don’t have to allow gun violence, the number one killer of our children, in lieu of common-sense background checks or red flag laws to save their lives is an outdated idea with which the majority of Iowans disagree. Our children deserve to safely attend school, parades, and public parks and parents shouldn’t worry that they might lose their children or leave them orphaned by going on routine outings or to school or work.
By coming together as voters, we can ask questions and elect leaders who know our children’s worth and are willing to prove it by passing legislation to save their lives. It’s time to demand what our families need so that every child in every corner of our country can grow up and pursue their dreams, no exceptions.
