Congress must take strong action on guns

I suggest all American buildings continually fly their flags at half-staff until Congress passes a stronger bill on gun safety. That way our U.S. representatives and U.S. senators will be regularly reminded of their responsibilities to keep American citizens safe.

The tragedy in Highland Park, Illinois, has personally affected all members of my family. That event and the frequent mass shooting incidents throughout our country have impacted families from coast to coast. These horrific events are largely preventable if only our politicians would take serious action. It’s way past the time to take military weapons of war off our streets. Congress must leave partisanship behind and get to work on this issue of life and death!
