How come many Iowans could tell me about the evils of terrorism when they perceived it as being overseas but some have trouble condemning it here at home?
Racism is taught. No one is born a racist. It is a global problem.
If we must ban one theory, white supremacy should be it. My grandfather fought Nazis and I am willing to do the same.
If hearing the words critical race theory makes you mad, I assure you it is not what you think it is. CRT for one, studies racial bias in laws and institutions, such as the how and why of incarceration rates and how sentencing differs among racial groups in the United States.
Immigration laws and drug laws were sold to the people using racism. The systems were literally built upon racism. We have had separate systems for non-white people and white people for as long as we have had systems. Teaching this is simply called teaching history.
If Gov. Reynolds wants to ban theories, ban books, and push religious beliefs on people she should go spend some time in one of the remaining theocracies on the planet and report back about her experience.
