Billions wasted while real solutions ignored

It's now a rush for city, state and federal governments to spend millions and even billions of dollars for new school safety. We will see any manner of new ideas to spend the money on new counselors, happiness programs and new committees to come up with more new ideas. All of which will have little impact but to score political points and say we did something. Everyone pats themselves on the back, until it happens again.
Time to face the facts. You can rarely stop deranged people. They are not troubled, they have fallen into insanity. Only insane people would slaughter little children trapped in a room. They will find a way to do what they want to do, but you can defend against large scale carnage in confined areas.
If you truly want to help save children, you will reinstate officers in the schools. Stop coddling troublemakers. I would bet on veterans to help do the job. One cop and one veteran, both armed, in schools. Train and arm teachers who would agree and most obvious of all, for those billions, install one-way exit doors or egress windows in classrooms. The holes are already there! It doesn’t take a committee to figure out a practical solution. How many doors can you install for a billion dollars, while another new committee sits around, wringing their hands trying to figure out what to do?
