Appreciate child care providers

Friday, May 6 is Childcare Provider Appreciation Day. It isn’t a national day off work holiday, but it is a day to honor those who care for our precious children. Childcare providers include teachers in a center or preschool and home child care providers who also teach the children in a home setting.
Anyone who leaves a child with a provider is trusting the provider to teach them, nurture them, feed them, hug them, protect them, help with toileting skills, hand washing skills, and so much more.
The career providers have chosen is the career that allows the majority of parents to work. They are the workforce behind the workforce!

As a former center assistant director, pre-K teacher, registered home provider, and someone who now works with child care providers I know the love, knowledge, and energy providers give. As a volunteer lead for Save the Children Action Network I work to educate others on how to work with our elected officials to do all they can to ensure that quality child care thrives.
May 6 is a day to honor and show your respect for the providers you have chosen to work with your family!
