An attribution to origin of campaign literature in HD89
Jacob Onken
Nov. 26, 2022 7:00 am
My name is Jacob Onken. I live in Iowa City. In my recent run for public office for Iowa House District 89, I distributed quite a bit of material advocating for my candidacy. As one can imagine, there are quite a few laws and regulations that regulate campaigning in the state of Iowa. One requirement is that certain material handed out contains an Attribution Statement. If a candidate fails to include this statement, the error can be reconciled including the following statement in the newspaper:
In October of 2022, door hangers advocating for the election of Jacob Onken as representative of Iowa HD89, were distributed, but did not state who paid for it. Said door hangers were paid for by Onken for 89.
The hope is that those who received one of these beautifully crafted door hangers—and wondered who paid for and designed it—can read this statement and rest assured, knowing that the Onkenfor89 Campaign Committee (now dissolved) paid for it.
