What is Iowa Ideas?
Iowa Ideas is a nonpartisan, statewide initiative to gather people from various perspectives and discuss issues impacting the state—now and into the future. Content is offered throughout the year by way of in depth-stories, with the opportunity for Iowans to gather in person and share a day and half conference experience in the Fall.
Iowa Ideas Conference attendees are able to customize their conference experience to fit their own interests, moving between tracks while networking with people of varying backgrounds. Collaborations with several community groups has allowed the return of the Young Professional and Diversity & Inclusion sessions that will be represented throughout the tracks.
Tracks this year include:
-
Agriculture
-
Diversity & Inclusion
-
Education
-
Energy & Environment
-
Health Care
-
Human & Social Services
-
Infrastructure
-
Policy
-
Regional Development
-
Workforce
-
Young Professional
Attendees will have several opportunities to gather as one large group throughout the day and half. Attendees will begin their day with an opening keynote on Thursday morning that will offer a message of inspiration and best bets for making the most out of the entire conference experience. The group will reconvene as a whole for the lunch keynote, which will offer thoughtful insight on Iowa's past, present and future. Thursday night, attendees will be welcome to attend a variety of evening activities, including the very popular "Pints and Politics" event which is help throughout the year by The Gazette and Iowa Public Radio, and broadcast live on Ben Keiffer's "River to River" program.
Session structure will include a panel and moderator format, encouraging audience participation. Session topics are underway, with over 200 panelists identified by peers in their field thanks to our new advisory councils.
