Prep football roundup: Dyersville Beckman shuts out Monticello

DYERSVILLE BECKMAN 44, MONTICELLO 0 – Fifth-ranked Dyersville Beckman got off to a slow start, but its defense remained strong and the Blazers pulled away for a 44-0 win at Monticello on Saturday. Ben Palmer's 35-yard field goal put Beckman up 3-0 early in the second quarter. Quarterback Sam Stelken added a rushing touchdown and a passing TD to Ben Hageman before the half. Beckman pulled away with 27 second-half points.

BELLE PLAINE 26, NORTH LINN 20 – Jacob Ehlen's six-yard touchdown run broke a 20-all deadlock in the fourth quarter and proved to be the winning score. Belle Plaine's Zac Slaymaker had three rushing touchdowns. Logan Novak's 82-yard pass to Brandon Stepanek tied the score early in the fourth, answering two third-quarter Belle Plaine touchdowns. North Linn led 14-6 at the half.
