Iowa Valley trio highlight all-SICL

Iowa Valley pitcher Austin Carney, catcher Dylan Healy and infielder Austin Schlabach earned first-team all-South Iowa Cedar League honors. Carney posted an 8-0 mark with a 1.68 earned-run average. Schlabach hit .400 with three home runs, while Healy hit .359 with a .431 on-base percentage.

BGM, which reached the substate final, had two on the first team. Infielders Kaiden Fiebelkorn and Tanner Jansen represented the Bears. Jansen, also a standout pitcher, hit .478 with 37 stolen bases in 38 attempts. Fiebelkorn hit .406 with four home runs and 22 RBIs.

Belle Plaine's Trey Squiers and Vance Bohlen also made the team. Squiers went 7-2 on the mound, striking out 63 batters in 63 innings pitched. Bohlen hit .333.

English Valleys outfielders Brennen Grimm and Adam Kerkove were first-team selections. Grimm hit .429 with a conference-high seven home runs and 31 RBIs. Kerkove hit .441 with a .519 on-base percentage.

Sigourney's Peyton Crawford and Colby Kerkove, who had five home runs apiece, made the first-team. Montezuma pitcher Jake Hasley (6-1, 1.02 ERA) and catcher Brody McKeag were first-team picks.
