Iowa colleges - Luther's Moran Lonning of Decorah was named MVP of the all-Iowa Conference women's basketball team and Coe's Aleena Hobbs of Cedar Rapids (Washington) and Mickey Hansche of Iowa City (City High) were first-team picks along with Wartburg's Kailey Kladivo of Traer (North Tama). Wartburg's Katie Sommer of Cedar Rapids (Linn-Mar) was a second-team pick and Coe's Jenna Lehman of Iowa City (Regina) earned honorable mention ... Curtis Prull of Monticello was named one of two special teams players of the year on the Dubuque football team, and Blaine Snitker of Waukon was the defensive MVP ... Luther College swimmer Lexi Scharmer of Cedar Rapids (Kennedy) won three events at the Liberal Arts Swimming and Diving Championships, helping the Norse to their 10th straight team title. Missouri colleges - Courtney Strait of Cedar Rapids (Kennedy) became the 20th Truman State women's basketball player to score 1,000 career points earlier this season. She earned second-team all-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors this season, averaging a team-high 10.6 points and 6.1 rebounds.
