Iowa City West never trailed in taking down Xavier, 49-30, in Iowa City.
The Saints trailed by nine at halftime, 26-17, and never got any closer. Maria Steffen led Xavier (3-2) with eight points.
Caitlynn Daniels added six points and Amelia Ivester led the team with seven rebounds.
Emma Koch led the Women of Troy (3-0) with 15 points. Logan Cook added 10 points.
4A No. 1 Marion 64, Solon 18
Top-ranked Marion shut down Solon in Marion.
The Indians (3-0) held the Spartans scoreless in the second quarter and led 37-7 at halftime.
Kayba Laube led the Indians with 13 points. Sophie Willette added nine points.
Gabby Marty led Solon (1-2) with seven points.
5A No. 1 Cedar Falls 83, Cedar Rapids Washington 62
The Warriors didn't have an answer for No. 1 Cedar Falls in Cedar Rapids.
Five Tigers (2-0) were in double figures, led by Emerson Green with 17 points.
Anaya Barney had 16 points, as did Cynthia Wolf. Kamryn Finley had 15 points and Kiana Barney added 11 points.
The Tigers managed 17 of 25 from the foul line, while the Warriors were just 7 of 12.
Caitlin Riley led Washington (2-1) with 14 points and Jayla Johnson added 13 points, six rebounds and seven steals.
Sammy Mia added 11 points.
Dubuque Hempstead 69, Cedar Rapids Jefferson 66
The J-Hawks fell just short of their first win in Dubuque.
Jenna Griffith had 16 points, including five 3-pointers, and Arianna Hawkins, Lindsey Culver and Erica Oler each added 12 points for Jefferson (0-4).
5A No. 13 Cedar Rapids Prairie 59, Dubuque Wahlert 34
Sarah Schmitt scored 16 points and Mallory McDermott added 13 points as No. 13 Prairie won in Dubuque.
Prairie (3-0) led 35-12 at the half.
Waterloo West 51, Linn-Mar 50
A last-second shot rolled off the rim in Waterloo.
Linn-Mar (0-4) remained winless. But Ally Johnson tied a school record with seven 3-pointers.
The Lions finally get their first home game Saturday against Muscatine (0-3).
1A No. 14 Bellevue Marquette 48, Cedar Valley Christian 31
Marquette handed Cedar Valley Christian its first loss in Springville.
Molly Hembera and Emma Slagle led CVC (2-1) with 10 points apiece.
5A No. 3 Iowa City High 82, Cedar Rapids Kennedy 51
For opponents, facing Ashley Joens is a horror flick.

Joens feasted at the free-throw line — and everywhere else, for that matter — and led Class 5A third-ranked Iowa City High past Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 82-51, in a Mississippi Valley Conference girls' basketball game Friday night at City High.

Liberty dropped its first home game at the new school.
The Lightning trailed by just two points, 61-59, with 6:09 left in the game.

Ben Krutzfeldt hit a long 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Spartans in Solon.
Solon trailed by eight points with a minute left to play, 50-42.

Cedar Valley Christian struggled on offense and trailed 43-9 at halftime against Bellevue Marquette in Springville.
Zach Slama led CVC (1-1) with eight points.
Cedar Rapids Prairie 64, North Scott 54
They sort of picked up where they left off.
The Cedar Rapids Prairie boys' basketball team was known last season for its rallies and good second-half play, and it continued that pattern Friday night in a 64-54 season-opening win over North Scott.
