Iowa high school boys’ basketball rankings: Fort Madison is new No. 1 in Class 3A
Ames, Central Lyon and Grand View Christian are the other top-ranked teams

CEDAR RAPIDS — It’s Ames, Fort Madison, Central Lyon and Grand View Christian. Those are your top-ranked teams in this week’s Associated Press Iowa high school boys’ basketball poll.
Ames (7-1) received seven of the 12 first-half votes to continue its stranglehold on the No. 1 spot in Class 4A. Pleasant Valley (10-0) received four first-place votes and is second, followed in the top five by Waukee Northwest (10-1), Cedar Rapids Prairie (9-1) and Council Bluffs Lincoln (8-2).
Prairie moved up from seventh last week. Cedar Rapids Kennedy (8-2) is sixth, up three spots from last week.

Fort Madison jumped ahead of Harlan for the top spot in 3A, despite neither team losing last week. The Bloodhounds (10-0) got four first-place votes to six for Harlan (10-0).
Humboldt (11-0) is third, followed by Washington (Iowa) and Pella. Clear Creek Amana (9-1) is seventh and Decorah (10-1) ninth.
Central Lyon (11-0) is your No. 1 in Class 2A, followed by Van Meter (11-0), Aplington-Parkersburg (10-1), Monticello (12-0) and Western Christian (8-1). Monticello had a big win last week over Camanche (11-1), which is sixth this week.
A third River Valley Conference team, Mid-Prairie, checks in at sixth. The Golden Hawks are 12-0 and received one first-place vote.
Grand View Christian (13-0) got nine first-place votes to continue its dominant position in Class 1A. The Thunder have beaten two Class 4A schools this season, including a 93-71 win last week over Des Moines East.
Remsen St. Mary’s (12-0) is ranked second in 1A, followed by North Linn (11-1), AHSTW (11-0) and Lake Mills (11-0).
