Class 5A
Class 5A teams are assigned groups but do not compete for group/district championships. Instead, RPI determines all 16 playoff qualifiers.
Class 4A
The top two teams in each district and the next four highest-ranked teams in the RPI qualify for the 16-team playoffs.
Class 3A
The top two teams in each district and the next four highest-ranked teams in the RPI qualify for the 16-team playoffs.
Class 2A
The top four teams in each district qualify for the 32-team playoffs.
Class 1A
The top four teams in each district qualify for the 32-team playoffs.
Class A
The top four teams in each district qualify for the 32-team playoffs.
8-Player
The top three teams in each district and two at-large teams based on point differential (17-point max) qualify for the 32-team playoffs.
