Clark, a unanimous pick, is the only player in Iowa history to receive this honor in back-to-back years. Joens is the first ISU player named to the preseason team.
Clark earned Big Ten preseason player of the year honors, as well, and was unanimously voted first-team preseason all-Big Ten.

During her sophomore campaign, Clark led the country in points (27.0) and assists (8.0) per game, total points (863), free throws made (200), triple-doubles (5) and 30-point games (11).
Joens, a former Iowa City High prep, is Iowa State’s all-time leading scorer, entering the season with 2,369 career points. She was named a second team All-American last season.
Hawkeye recruit
The Hawkeyes got a commitment from 6-foot-4 post Ava Heiden of Sherwood, Ore., on Sunday.
She is ranked No. 42 nationally in the “Super 60 for 2024” by ESPN Hoopgurlz.
Heiden is the second player in the 2024 class, joining Callie Levin of Solon.
