Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell is officially an All-American.
The Walter Camp Football Foundation included Campbell on its first-team All-America team.
The recognition, unveiled Thursday night on ESPN’s college football awards show, came hours after Campbell earned the Butkus Award, which goes to the top linebacker in college football.

Campbell was the first recipient from Iowa to win the William V. Campbell Trophy and both the conference and the Associated Press’ choice Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.
Iowa did not have any other first-team or second-team honorees.
The Walter Camp recognition was the first of the five preeminent All-America teams used to determine whether someone is a consensus All-American.
The Football Writers Association of America will next unveil its All-America team Friday. Campbell is two All-America honors away from becoming a consensus All-American.
