Iowa’s Tory Taylor, Jack Campbell named first-team All-Americans by FWAA
Campbell needs one more All-America nod to become consensus All-American

Dec. 9, 2022 11:22 am
Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell and punter Tory Taylor have earned first-team All-America recognition from the Football Writers Association of America.
Friday morning’s announcement marked the first All-America recognition for Taylor from one of the five major organizations since he was a first-team freshman All-American from the FWAA in 2020.
It follows a regular season in which Taylor averaged 45.1 yards per punt. Twenty-two of his 74 punts went for at least 50 yards. He had 32 punts inside the opponents’ 20-yard line versus 11 touchbacks.

Campbell also was named a first-team Walter Camp All-American and the recipient of the Butkus Award, which goes to the top linebacker in college football, Thursday.
A first-team nod from any of the other three major All-America teams — Associated Press, Sporting News or American Football Coaches Association — would make Campbell a consensus All-American.
