Hawkeyes’ Sept. 23 football game is at Penn State in prime-time on CBS

It’s the first start-time announced for a 2023 Iowa game, and first on CBS in many moons

It was announced Monday that the Sept. 23 Iowa-Penn State football game at Penn State will be at 7 p.m. (CT) on CBS.

This is the first starting-time announced for any of the Hawkeyes’ 12 games in 2023.

It will be televised by CBS, which will be in the first year of a 7-year deal with the Big Ten. It will be Iowa’s first appearance on the network since the 1995 Sun Bowl, and first regular-season appearance since 1986.

The Big Ten will have games on CBS, NBC and Fox under the league’s media rights contracts that begin this year.
