5 Iowa football players, 4 Iowa State players invited to NFL Combine

IOWA CITY — Five Iowa football players are among the 319 college prospects invited to the annual NFL Combine.
Linebacker Jack Campbell, tight end Sam LaPorta, defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness and defensive backs Riley Moss and Kaevon Merriweather were the five invitees.
A pair of ex-Hawkeyes who transferred to other schools — wide receiver Charlie Jones and defensive back Julius Brents — also received combine invites.

Wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson, defensive back Anthony Johnson Jr. and defensive linemen M.J. Anderson and Will McDonald IV will represent Iowa State in Indianapolis.
Northern Iowa did not have any players invited to the combine this year.
The combine will be at Lucas Oil Stadium from Feb. 28-March 6 with portions televised by NFL Network.
