1. Rutgers is coming off a 65-45 home win over Penn State Tuesday. The Scarlet Knights are 3-1 since their 76-65 home loss to Iowa on Jan. 8. Payton Sandfort had 22 points for the Hawkeyes.
2. Iowa was the last team to sweep two games from Rutgers in a season, in 2020-21.
3. Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery said Friday that junior forward Patrick McCaffery would practice this weekend. “I think he’s getting closer (to playing),” Fran McCaffery said, “but we’ll see.”
4. Junior 6-foot-11 Clifford Omoruyi leads Rutgers in scoring (13.3 ppg) and rebounding (10.1). He is third in the Big Ten in rebounding and blocked shots (2.0 per game). Teammate Cam Spencer is second in steals per game, with 2.5, on the team that leads the conference in that category with 9.6 per game.
5. Ulis is averaging 14.5 points over his last two games, and is coming off a career-high 17-point effort.
