The Big Ten Conference announced a quick resolution to when Wednesday’s postponed Northwestern-Iowa men’s basketball game will be rescheduled.
Thursday, the league announced the Wildcats and Hawkeyes will play at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. Iowa will have a quick turnaround, since it plays Rutgers at home two days earlier. Northwestern will have one extra day of preparation, coming off a Jan. 28 home game against Minnesota.
Tickets to the game will be honored for the makeup date.

Wednesday’s game was postponed because injuries and COVID-19 issues within Northwestern’s program left the Wildcats without enough healthy scholarship players to play under Big Ten rules. Northwestern has also postponed its scheduled home game against Wisconsin Saturday.
Iowa (4-3 Big Ten, 12-6 overall) next plays Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT) at Ohio State, in search of its fifth-straight victory. The Buckeyes lost at Nebraska Wednesday for their fifth-consecutive defeat.
