Iowa 2nd, Iowa State 3rd nationally in women’s basketball average home attendance
Hawkeyes drew more than 200,000 fans in a memorable 31-7 season that ended in the national final

IOWA CITY — The University of Iowa women’s basketball program ranked second nationally last season, both in total home attendance and average home attendance.
The Hawkeyes welcomed 200,569 fans to Carver-Hawkeye Arena in 2022-23.
An average of 11,143 fans per game saw the Hawkeyes go 17-1 at Carver, including sellouts in the final three games: 15,056 in the regular-season finale, an 86-85 win over Indiana, and 14,382 each in the NCAA first- and second-round wins over Southeastern Louisiana and Georgia.

South Carolina led the nation both in total attendance (220,010) and average attendance (12,942).
Iowa (31-7, Big Ten tournament champion and NCAA tournament runner-up) led the nation in games with attendance of 13,000-plus., with 11.
Iowa State was third in average attendance (10,323) and seventh in total attendance (144,525).
