Former Hawkeye Austin Ash transferring to The Citadel’s men’s basketball team
Grad transfer from Cedar Rapids and Mount Vernon High was scholarship player for Hawkeyes last season

Austin Ash has found a new Division I men’s basketball home.
The former Iowa Hawkeye player from Cedar Rapids, and Mount Vernon High School, is getting put on a full-ride scholarship by The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., for his final season of eligibility.
Ash walked on at Iowa in 2017 and was placed on scholarship a year ago. He played in 44 games in his Hawkeyes career. He averaged 2.9 points over 18 games last season, and averaged 26.3 points per 40 minutes.

The Citadel is in the Southern Conference. It is coached by Davenport native Ed Conroy.
