MAP: Cedar Rapids shots-fired incidents in 2022
Here are two versions of an interactive map — one animated based on date — showing 120 shots-fired incidents known to police in Cedar Rapids during 2022.
Shots-fired calls were down slightly from 123 in 2021, according to CRPD.
Three addresses in the data were listed more than once:
• 1500 Oakland Rd NE — Oakland Court and Gardens Apartments
• 1700 C Ave NE — an intersection among houses at 17th St NE and C Ave NE in the Mound View neighborhood
• 3000 J St SW — Cedar Valley Townhomes
Twenty-four of the 120 calls (one fifth) came from the Wellington Heights neighborhood in Cedar Rapids, which is bounded by First Avenue East, 19th Street SE, Mount Vernon Road SE and 10th Street SE.
