Lady Abigail of Gandy Creek, beloved pet

of Krista

Burich and Simon Maurer, died peacefully alongside her mom and dad on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022.

Abbie was born on Dec. 3, 2007, and adopted by her mother on a sunny day in August 2008 at the SPCA in Annapolis, Md. In April 2012, she moved to Iowa City,

Iowa, where she spent the rest of her life stealing socks and food from her family and friends.

Abbie’s favorite activities included chasing balls, loading the dishwasher, walking for ice cream with her family, four-wheeler rides and snuggling. She excelled at sneaking food, whether it was hot brats straight from the grill or a hot pink frosted chocolate cake from the kitchen counter; unattended food didn’t stand a chance around Abbie. She did not excel at swimming or table manners.

Abbie was the sweetest and most beautiful dog, even when she started to get lumpy and warty. She loved her family unconditionally and will be missed greatly by her mom, dad, Parker, Griffen and Charlie.

Abbie is survived by her furry friends, Piper, Rip, Harlow, Bertha and Sam. She was preceded in death by her brother, Spirit and friends Layla, Mogli, Kona, Ziggy, Bruiser and Sophie.

Abbie’s family would like to thank Dr. Larson and the rest of the staff at the West Liberty Veterinary Clinic. In lieu of flowers, Abbie’s family asks that you give your dog an extra treat in her honor.
