Grocery chain Hy-Vee has debuted Hy-Vee Medicare Aisle, an agency that offers coverage plans to Medicare beneficiaries across the retailer’s eight-state region.
The West Des Moines-based corporation launched Hy-Vee Medicare Aisle this week through Hy-Vee Financial Services, its banking, insurance and investments subsidiary.
These services are offered through Midwest Heritage Bank, a Hy-Vee company that is also based in West Des Moines.

Hy-Vee Medicare Aisle will offer coverage plans, including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D and Medicare Supplement Plans, through a number of national and regional health insurance carriers, officials announced Monday.
“Hy-Vee is a trusted leader in the health and wellness space, and as a retail and specialty pharmacy provider, we are deeply invested in the health and well-being of our patients and customers,” said Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee chairman, CEO and president. “Hy-Vee Medicare Aisle is an extension of that commitment as we continue to work toward making our customers’ lives easier, healthier and happier by providing trusted, transparent and affordable health insurance plans that they can be confident in.”
The new agency will launch its digital quoting and enrollment tool to assist customers with the enrollment process on Oct. 1.
Individuals who are becoming eligible for Medicare can begin searching and enrolling in coverage plans via Hy-Vee Medicare Aisle.
Open enrollment for current Medicare beneficiaries takes place Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. Those individuals can begin purchasing their 2022 Medicare plans during that time period.
Hy-Vee, an employee-owned corporation operating more than 280 retail stores across the Midwest, launched its subsidiary Hy-Vee Financial Services this past month. The agency offers products that include checking and savings accounts, auto and home insurance, home mortgages, consumer loans and pet insurance.
At the time of its launch, the grocer said fire and health insurance plans would be rolled out later this year.
