Stephen Colbert had a take on last Saturday’s Kinnick Stadium Wave

“Hi, hospital! See you in two to 14 days!” Stephen Colbert said of the Kinnick Wave during his Wednesday night monologue.

During his Wednesday night monologue on “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the host showed the fans at last Saturday’s Indiana-Iowa football game at Kinnick Stadium.

In his extended riff about the spread of the COVID-19 delta variant, Colbert shows the fans at the game waving to kids in the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital after the end of the first quarter.

“The University of Iowa’s stadium also does not require vaccines or masks,” Colbert said, “and here’s the crowd waving at the hospital behind the stadium.

“Hi, hospital! See you in two to 14 days!”
