Iowa is off to a quick start on its 2024 football recruiting class.
At this point last year, Iowa didn’t have any 2023 commitments. At this point two years ago, Iowa had one commitment.
But the Hawkeyes already have four commitments in their 2024 class.

Here are some of the highlights of the last week on the recruiting trail:
Committed
Preston Ries became the fourth 2024 prospect — and fourth in-state player in his class — to commit to the Hawkeyes.
The Monticello standout, who has three-star ratings from Rivals and 247Sports, also received offers from Iowa State and Nebraska.
Offers
Christopher Terek, a three-star offensive tackle in the 2023 class, announced an offer from the Hawkeyes on Tuesday. His other offers include Iowa State, Illinois, Vanderbilt and Boston College. He is 84th among offensive tackles in 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Kamarion Franklin, a four-star defensive lineman in the 2024 class, added an offer from the Hawkeyes on May 6. The Lake Cormorant, Miss., prospect is the 12th-best defensive lineman in 247Sports’ composite rankings of his class.
Franklin also has offers from Alabama, LSU, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Texas and Tennessee, among other schools.
Jaron Tibbs, a 2023 wide receiver from Indianapolis, received an offer from the Hawkeyes on May 5. The three-star prospect’s other offers include Illinois State, Miami (Ohio) and Western Michigan.
Jackson McGohan is the latest tight end to receive an offer from Iowa. The 2023 prospect already verbally committed to Cincinnati in January, but the Hawkeyes certainly aren’t the only program hoping he changes his mind.
Other schools looking to poach the three-star player include Oklahoma, Kentucky, Purdue and Miami (Fla.).
