The next phase of the recruiting calendar began Wednesday.
After Iowa assistant coaches zigzagged much of the country in May and late April, any in-person recruiting in June must happen on Iowa’s campus.
Here are the highlights of the last two weeks of Iowa football recruiting:
Committed to Iowa

Aidan Hall, a three-star safety from Harlan in the 2023 class, committed to the Hawkeyes on May 21 — eight days after receiving an offer from the Hawkeyes.
Hall also had offers from Minnesota, North Dakota State, Air Force, Northern Iowa and Illinois State, among other schools.
Wide receiver Jordan Kumm committed to the Hawkeyes as a preferred walk-on. Kumm comes from Iowa Central Community College, where he had six receptions in five games as a freshman.
Decommitted
Class of 2022 Iowa signee Olando Trader decommitted from Iowa on May 25 and reopened his recruitment to “find where I can be the most successful and better myself as a student-athlete.”
The three-star prospect’s departure leaves Iowa with four defensive backs in the incoming freshman class.
Narrowed list
Class of 2023 offensive lineman Logan Howland announced his top four schools, and Iowa made the cut along with Michigan, Miami (Fla.) and Oklahoma. The New Jersey prospect has an official visit scheduled to Iowa on June 24-26.
Howland has a three-star rating from Rivals and 247Sports and is high school teammates with Iowa quarterback commit Marco Lainez.
Luke Burgess, a 2023 offensive tackle with a four-star rating from Rivals, did not include Iowa in his final three schools, instead choosing Florida State, North Carolina and Louisville.
Offers
Class of 2023 defensive back Kennedy Urlacher, the son of former Chicago Bears standout Brian Urlacher, received an offer from the Hawkeyes on May 18. Urlacher, who has a three-star rating from 247Sports, also has offers from Arizona, New Mexico and Northern Arizona.
National recruiting class rankings
2023 (Rivals): 13th (Fourth in Big Ten)
2023 (247Sports): 14th (Fourth in Big Ten)
2024 (Rivals): Third (First in Big Ten)
2024 (247Sports): Second (First in Big Ten)
Following Trader’s decommitment, Iowa’s 2022 class is 30th nationally and sixth in the Big Ten in both Rivals’ and 247Sports’ rankings.
If the current 2022 rankings hold, it will be the first time Rivals ranked Iowa State’s recruiting class, at 29, ahead of Iowa’s since 2014.
