1. The game is sold out.
2. Iowa is coming off a 48-46 loss at Rutgers Wednesday. It was the Hawkeyes’ lowest point total since their 65-45 defeat at Wisconsin three years ago.
3. Penn State hasn’t played since its 61-56 loss at Ohio State Sunday. It was supposed to host Minnesota Wednesday, but the game was postponed because of COVID-19 issues in the Gophers program. The Nittany Lions had three nonconference games canceled because of COVID.
4. First-year Penn State head coach Micah Shrewsberry was an associate head coach at Purdue the previous two seasons, and was an assistant coach with the Boston Celtics in the six seasons before that.
5. Penn State has held nine of its last 12 opponents to 10 or more points under their season averages.
6. This is Iowa’s first Saturday home game since it hosted Penn State on Feb. 29, 2020.
