IOWA CITY — Another one has bitten the dust, at least for now.
The University of Iowa women’s basketball game against Illinois, scheduled for Sunday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 test results within the Illini program.
This game will be postponed and the conference office will coordinate the rescheduling process. If the game is not able to be rescheduled, it would count as a “no contest” for both teams.

It is Iowa’s fifth game this season impacted by COVID-19. An outbreak within the Hawkeyes’ program forced the cancellation of three games, and an outbreak at Penn State zapped Thursday’s game at State College, Pa.
The 21st-ranked Hawkeyes (6-3) host Northwestern on Jan. 6 at Carver.
