Heading into 2023, Willis Dady Homeless Services recognizes that there is no lack of challenges for the social service agencies in our community. There has been an increased need for services of all kinds, including mental health, food resources, transportation, and a sharp increase in the need for homeless services. Individuals experiencing homelessness are impacted by all these struggles. We are committed to providing the solutions and resource connections our clients need to regain stability and self-sufficiency. This next year, Willis Dady Homeless Services is focusing on strengthening and sustaining our key programs. This focus will bring our mission, vision, and values into place, as we serve people experiencing, or near homelessness throughout 2023.
As of writing this column the Community Overflow Shelter has seen 230 unduplicated individuals stay overnight since November 15. Willis Dady’s Street Outreach referral list is over 150 people, for people sleeping unsheltered. Our Emergency Shelter is at capacity for individuals, with calls everyday of people seeking shelter in our community. Those on the front lines of the housing crisis are seeing the impact that low vacancy rates, lack of affordable housing, and inflation are having on those at risk of or literally experiencing homelessness. This year we are committing ourselves to refine all of our services and address these challenges, through strategic evaluation of our organization.
In 2023 Willis Dady is kicking off a new strategic plan. This 5-year plan is going to bring beneficial change to our agency at every level, allowing us to engage our clients, neighbors, volunteers, board, and greater community in our mission and vision like never before.

Will you consider joining us in 2023 as we embark on our next strategic plan? As we focus our organization's energy and resources to bettering our programs, our biggest challenge is unrestricted funding. When our community gives unrestricted gifts, Willis Dady is able to meet the urgent needs of our budget throughout the year, ensuring that our services are available for those who need them the most 24/7, 365. Make sure to stay tuned online at willisdady.org and via social media as we rollout this new strategic plan and share about the opportunities for you to get involved in our mission and vision through financial giving, goods donations, or volunteering!
