According to the National Weather Service, in the Cedar Rapids area today it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 49. Winds from the southwest, 5 to 10 mph. Then tonight, partly cloudy, with a low around 32. Our unseasonably warm temperatures are expected to peak on Wednesday with a high near 71 degrees.
T.J. Otzelberger became the first Iowa State men’s basketball coach to win his first 10 games with the team, guiding the 17th-ranked Cyclones past Jackson State 47-37 on Sunday. The Cyclones improved 10-0 after ending last season with 18 straight losses. Iowa State beat Jackson State last Dec. 20th, then didn't win again in finishing 2-22. On Thursday, the Cyclones defeated the Hawkeyes 73-53.
