Class 5A Iowa high school football RPIs, through Week 6

With the elimination of districts in Class 5A football, all 36 teams are, essentially, independents.

The 16 playoff teams will be determined solely by Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).

RPI is determined by three factors: W-L percentage (37.5 percent), opponents’ W-L percentage (37.5 percent) and opponents’ opponents’ W-L percentage (25 percent).

Here is how the top 20 teams stand through six weeks determined by our UNOFFICIAL calculations:

1. Southeast Polk (5-1, 30-24, 261-225, .6551)

2. West Des Moines Valley (5-1, 30-24, 259-227, .6540)

3. Iowa City High (6-0, 20-34, 268-218, .6518)

4. Cedar Rapids Kennedy (6-0, 20-34, 264-222, .6497)

5. Cedar Rapids Prairie (5-1, 29-25, 250-236, .6425)
